Mini Festivals at Golling Castle

In 2000, we launched our Festival of Art and Cuisine with just 5 concerts. As so often happens, everything would start off with a bottle of wine at the Döllerer hotel. The main initiators of the festival were the current ‘Philharmonia Schrammeln’ members Clemens Hellsberg, Martin Kubik, Hannes Moser and the Pecha family, who played for hotel guests in 1997 at the ‘Goldener Stern’. This was the prelude to our Mini Festivals at Golling Castle. The settings at Golling Castle remain small and intimate today, along with the renowned ensembles which play there. Over the last 10 years, the event has developed to become a well-regarded series. Each year from mid-July to mid-August, the Golling Art & Music Forum is able to attract numerous international artists and members of the Vienna Philharmonic orchestra, Vienna Symphony Orchestra and Vienna State Opera to Golling thanks to generous support from sponsors, the community and the state. The nostalgic Golling Castle forms an atmospheric setting for 14 high calibre concerts and readings for an artistic experience at the very highest level.

Salzburg Festivals

‘Everyone expects a party,’ said Goethe. The renowned Austrian poet Hugo von Hofmannsthal said of the festival in this city: “Salzburg is the heart of the heart of Europe. It is based in the centre between South and North, between mountains and plains, between Switzerland and the Slavic countries”. The Salzburg Festivals were founded 9 0years ago by Hugo von Hofmannsthal, Max Reinhardt and Richard Strauss and are more than just a people magnet. From July to August, 170 operas, concerts, theatre performances, readings and much more take place here. In addition to the big classic operas and plays, some of the most important works from our century are also presented each year. The concert series incorporates the results of the most important contemporary creations.
