From the Bärenhof guesthouse in the Bluntautal valley, turn left at the shelter off the road towards the Bluntau waterfalls. After a rapid gain in altitude, the route follows varied terrain through clearings to the Unterjochalm hut. You can also use the Güterweg trail (closed to traffic). In Summer, we recommend walking to the Hochalm hut, past the hunting lodges to the Oberjochalm hut. You can walk on to the Stahlhaus in just 1.5 hours (overnight stay possible at the Alpenvereinshaus). In good weather, you can also take a tour to the Schneibstein mountain. A comfortable walk leads on to the Jenner mountain and to the mountain with beautiful views over the Königssee lake and Berchtesgaden. The return journey can take you via Berchtesgaden and on by bus or train to Golling or for Alpine enthusiasts and experienced walkers, there are beautiful routes to the Hoher Göll mountain. You can also go via the Schneibstein and Schlumm mountains to Golling or via the ‘kleine Reib’ tour to Berchtesgaden.
